Kartarī-yantra (scissors yantra) was an instrument used by early Indian astronomers. [1]

It was one of Lalla's 12 instruments of astronomy.[2]

Lalla describes it as a modification of the Dhanur-yantra, with a similar purpose of finding the ghaṭīs elapsed from the time of daybreak.[1]
