Pīṭha-yantra was an instrument used by early Indian astronomers.

It was one of Lalla's 12 instruments of astronomy.[1]

Lalla describes it being a differently oriented cakra-yantra, again used for finding elapsed ghaṭīs, and capable of finding the degrees of the agrā of the Sun. He discusses it simulatenously with the kapāla-yantra, which was an oriented kartarī-yantra, itself coming from the half-circle dhanur-yantra. [2]
